“Portobello”, a bronze statue by Tim Cotterill. This piece depicts a frog splayed across a large mushroom while a ladybug crawls up its stem. The signature “Frogman” is on its outstretched thigh and “Tim 85/2500” on that leg’s foot. Includes certificate of authenticity. 1.3 lbs.
Tim Cotterill, also known as the “Frogman”, is a British-born and California-based sculptor who began applying his metalworking expertise to whimsical frog sculptures in 1990. His pieces employ the ‘lost-wax’ technique, the molds for which are destroyed after a certain number of copies have been created. This makes his works highly collectible.
