Description
Vintage US Marine Corps mameluke/sword/saber with an orange hilt. The blade itself is etched with ‘United States Marines’. The space on the blade where the owner’s name should be etched is bare, potentially indicating that this piece became surplus when the hilt color was changed to white. The base of one side of the blade reads ‘Germany’ and the base of the other side reads “No. 202 Trademark Conqueror N. S. Meyer Inc.Includes scabbard and tassel as well. 24K gold plated stainless steel crossguard. Manufactured in Germany. 2.5 lbs.
Size: 37.5 X 5.5″
Condition: The scabbard is flecked with wear and rust though the blade underneath is in good condition. The hilt is missing a star nail and there is a chunk missing near the crossguard. Appears to be surplus given the lack of an owner’s name. See pictures for more detail.
