Description
Giant 36″ across X 26″ high Chinese ceremonial Thunder Drum (Tanggu) animal skin drum. Drum is made with painted hand lacquered wood in a traditional barrel shape. The tanggu; literally “ceremonial hall drum”; sometimes spelled tang gu) is a traditional Chinese drum that dates all the way back to the Northern Wei Dynasty.
Size: 36 X 26″
Condition: Original red coating has deteriorated with age. Drum works as intended.
