Description
17th C. Royal decree signed and enacted by the Holy Roman Emperor Leopold the1st in April of 1659.
This royal decree was issued to Germany, Hungary Bohemia restricting all political leaders from wearing excessively embellished clothing and weapons in public (because it would demoralize the poor). Anyone going against the order would be fined.
