Description
Bedrich Smetana by Ferdinand Michl (1877-1951, Austrian) signed by F. Michl. Ferdinand Michl was an Austrian artist who received his early education in painting at the Prague Art Academy before continuing his studies in Munich and Italy. He was a member of the Hagenbund and the Austrian Artists’ House. Michl was influenced by French art during his stay in Paris from 1904-1909, which can be seen in his later works, including a gouache painting from 1921.
