ERTE ART DECO DECADENT SYMPHONY IN BLACK MIRROR
Description
Art Deco-style mirror with Erte’s “Symphony in Black” printed over the front. The frame is gold and black, with light black fluting along the gold edge. The piece includes a large border with thick feathery filaments spraying from the mirror. A pair of sticker on the lower left corner detail that the piece was originally sold by Sharon Concepts and is copyrighted 1986.
Erte was a fashion and graphic designer who helped establish the aesthetics of Art Nouveau. His illustration “Symphony in Black” is is most recognizable and reproduced work, transcending the trends of its age and becoming a universal symbol of seduction and decadent splendor. 25.3 lbs.
