Signed original theatrical costume design sketch for the famous 1870 comic ballet, Coppelia by artist Ivan Mikailov. Mikhailov was active mid 20th century as a prominent Russian-Soviet theatrical artist and painter.. The sketch depicts a female character dressed in vibrant, traditional European folk like dress. This is a watercolor and ink work on paper typical of 20th century theatrical art productions. The markings on the lower right corner show that this piece was completed November 5, 1956 for a specific theatre staging. Framed with glass.
