Description
Vintage bronze cast reproduction of ‘The Thinker’ by Rodin. The piece is set on a green marble base, on the front of which is an engraved plaque which reads “Thinker by A. Rodin” This piece was originally positioned near the top of a larger work titled ‘The Gates of Hell”, which dramatized the underworld of Dante’s ‘Inferno’. In its original context, The Thinker represented humanity contemplating the enormity of its own sin. 84.5 lbs.
