Description
Vintage bronze cockfight set. One figure (16 x 14.5 x 11″) is in an attacking position , lunging at its opponent with a scaly claw raised and flared. The other (16 x 14 x 10″) bows in a defensive position, prepared to strike at the other with its sharp beak. Their plumage sprays behind them, adding further dynamism to an already kinetic scene. Although the scene is a low-class sport, the sculptor has dramatized his subject enough that it possesses an almost mythological pathos. 11.5 lbs total.
