Description
Lot of three examples of WWI trench art, being artillery shells refashioned into vases. This became a common creative outlet for soldiers in the trenches or recovering in hospitals and became common during WWI because of the abundance of metal waste produced by recently introduced artillery weaponry. One seems to be Ottoman/Middle Eastern and the other two reflect an Art Nouveau style reflective of European tastes.
