Description
Reproduction of Auguste Rodin’s ‘Fallen Caryatid”, sculpted by Sergei Eylanbekov and sold by Avon in 1993. A Caryatid is an architectural feature in which an upright female statue replaces the columns on a Greek temple, most famously on the Athenian Erechtheion. Rodin’s sculpture depicts one who has collapsed under the weight of her stone, symbolizing grief over and exhaustion from an unfulfilled duty. 7.2 lbs.
