Description
Sporterized 1862 musket/percussion rifle. A stamp in the metal reads “US Springfield” and another reads “1862”. Not all parts may be original and the sight is missing. This piece, nicknamed the “Springfield”, was the most common type of gun used during the US Civil War.
Fair quality, the planterization has largely worn out and there are spots of rust along the barrel. The cock pulls back with good spring tension and the gun clicks when the trigger is depressed. The lack of bluing on much of the bolt is intentional. That being said, this company is not a gun shop and its employees are not gunsmiths. A more comprehensive assessment of the piece’s quality and functionality is up to the buyer to carry out. 7 lbs.
