Description
Augusto Ferri (1829-1895, Italian) original still life oil painting in the manner of Ferri. This painting was made in the same style and technique as Ferri. He first followed in his father’s footsteps and was appointed to the Théâtre Italien in Paris in 1851 after him. He then moved to Madrid in 1857 in the company of two other painters, and soon became the most admired set designer in Spain. Thanks to a vast renovation, he brought Spanish theatre to a European level. He left Spain in 1870 and, after collaborating with his father for some years, he retired to Bologna in 1875, devoting himself exclusively to painting.
